What defines Irish literature? Festival kick off event!

Irish literature has a long and illustrious tradition, and the recent wave of contemporary writers making their mark internationally has only strengthened that tradition. In 2025 though, when Irish culture is also vividly marked by diaspora and the country itself is in flux politically and culturally, what defines Irish writing?
