Since childhood, we all have used art to express, entertain and soothe ourselves.
As we navigate increasingly distressing times I invite you to go back to the intuitive art making we're all capable of and build a toolbox of simple exercises you can go back to in times of need.
We'll talk about what art therapy is and how it can be beneficial both to individuals and the community and works with simple but effective prompts for mindful art making.
Becoming an art therapist helped me rethink my relationship to art and brought me to be more actively involved in building community spaces and I hope to discuss this and more during the event.
The prompts we'll work with don't require any previous knowledge of art techniques or particular skills and all can be adapted to your individual needs. You're also never expected to share anything personal during this workshop. All materials will be provided, bring a notebook if you want to take notes during the discussion part.
We believe in accessibility when it comes to mental health services and art making and have some spots available for people who might be struggling financially. Please email hello@prismaticpages.com if you would like to claim one of these.
The workshop will be led by Marta Crosta:
I'm an artist and art therapist, I completed my education in Italy and brought my creativity to Norway in the middle of the pandemic. I write poetry and produce mostly collage and mixed media art. I work at Barnekunstmuseet here in Oslo, where I organise workshops and courses. I spend most of my free time reading, that's why Prismatic Pages is the perfect place for this course!
